Where specifications come from
We start with the manufacturer’s own website, brochures and technical sheets. We use a few well-known Indian automotive sources only to fill what the manufacturer does not state or to cross-check a figure, and the manufacturer’s figure wins when they differ. Each value keeps its source.
How we check them
- A value is added or changed only with a quote from its source that contains it.
- Software helps us read and compare sources, but a person reviews the changes before they are published.
- Where sources disagree, or a figure cannot be found, we leave it out rather than guess.
- Values that look wrong are checked again when readers report them through Report a problem.
Ex-showroom and on-road prices
An ex-showroom price is the price before registration, insurance and other charges. We take it from the manufacturer or dealer and record the city and date.
An on-road price is what you pay to ride it out. We work it out as the ex-showroom price plus the road tax or registration (RTO) charge, the insurance and any other charges set for your state and vehicle type. These charges are kept per state and updated when the rules change. Where a state has no rule yet, we use a stated default and label the result as an estimate.
How fresh a price is
Every price shows the date it was verified. A price that has not been checked recently is marked as possibly out of date. Prices change often, so confirm with the dealer.
Variants, colours and availability
We list the variants and colours the manufacturer states. Availability, waiting periods and offers are the dealer’s to confirm.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews are the opinions of owners, checked under our Reviews and Content Policy. A verified badge means we saw proof of ownership.
How we earn money
Buyers use the site free. We earn from dealers and finance partners, who pay for the buyer requests they choose to accept and for related services, as described in Payments, Credits and Refunds. Payment does not change a specification or a price we show, and it does not change which models we list. Dealers are shown to you by your location, their brand and how they respond.
